  • Pioneer... a viewing experience
  • By:  T. McLeish  Owned for:  1  Months

  • Pros:  Great picture, great sound, vivid colors, multiple connections
  • Cons:  High gloss border, highly reflective, scratches easily

  • Review Comments: We ordered the Pioneer PDP-5010FD and are very pleased with it. The service was superb, I talked with Dan at HT concepts and he was very friendly and professional. I highly recommend them and would buy from them again. The TV arrived in excellent condition. From order to door everything was flawless.

  • Once you go Kuro...
  • By:  Bunnicula  Owned for:  2  Weeks

  • Pros:  Sharp picture, deep blacks, amazing contrasts, even does non-HD TV amazingly well.
  • Cons:  High price, wish it had a lighted remote control.

  • Review Comments: I considered Samsung and Sony's latest LCDs but the Kuro PDP-5010FD commands only a slight premium yet offers a superior picture in HD and non-HD and the stellar blacks really live up to the hype. As a die-hard Sony fan it was hard to accept the Pioneer's superiority, but I now have.

  • You Get What You Pay For.....
  • By:  T. Hughes  Owned for:  2  Months

  • Pros:  Sharp picture, super-dark blacks on screen. Cable card is nice, as is TV guide feature.
  • Cons:  Cost....all of the quality isn't cheap.

  • Review Comments: This is my third 42 inch + plasma TV and by far the best. I recommend going to a retail store and seeing the picture side-by-side with some of the so-called "great" plasmas.....the Pioneer smokes 'em and then some. Picture quality along with numerous HDMI inputs are only the start. The Cable Card capability is nice, if you have acces to this on your cable system, as it allows use of the TV's remote and precludes the need for "multiple remotes" to utilize all the TV offers, such as the TV Guide feature which gives tons of programming info. The set works great with our PS-3, both in High Def gaming and Blue Ray movies. You won't be disappointed, just fork over the money!!
