- KURO 4280HD

- Pros: Pic quality, user menu and card slot
- Cons: not 1080p but who cares if you can make a pic like this
- Review Comments: Coming from a 1080p lcd owner, i can say that video pocessing, contrast and colors come before 1080p. Best 42'' plasma without a doubt, better than Panny's 700U.

- Exceptional HDTV

- Pros: Stunning picture quality with HD and very good for standard def.
- Cons: Not 1080p, relatively small size compared to the other newer plasmas.
- Review Comments: After several months vacillating on a decision for my first HDTV, I finally decided on the Pioneer 4280. After seeing the set at a local store and reading the reviews, I was pretty sure this was "the one." It has a fabulous picture with HD sources, and I'm somewhat amazed at how good standard def programming looks with this set. I've seen several other HDTVs and none of them show SD as good as this set. The black levels are as good as advertised, and the set is very sharp with vibrant colors. I did have one small "stuck pixel" on close inspection of the screen, but it is completely invisible at any distance greater than 2 feet so it's not a concern at all (realizing that many plasmas have an isolated "stuck pixel" that could eventually clear.) The only thing negative is that it is "only" a 42-inch diagonal set. I wanted a larger set, but am restricted by the size of my current entertainment center. Since I will be moving into a new home within the next 2 years, I decided to get this set now, and move it to the bedroom in the new home, and getting a larger set later. I am completely satisfied with my purchase.
